Systemic problems faced by forcibly displaced women: discussion

On May 2nd, we engaged in a crucial dialogue with our regional partner organizations, which are also recipients of sub-grants from our organization, focusing on the systemic challenges faced by displaced women from Nagorno-Karabakh. Since 2023, these organizations have continued to provide essential services to the displaced people of Artsakh. During our meeting, we addressed the obstacles encountered by these organizations in garnering support.

In the second part of the session, we delved into issues pertaining to women’s rights within the security agenda. Specifically, in anticipation of drafting a new action plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace, and Security,” we gathered recommendations deemed essential for inclusion in this document. We took into account the insights gleaned from border and women’s organizations.

Following this productive meeting, it was decided to initiate discussions with representatives from the relevant state department.
