Public Announcement on fighting for women’s rights and responding to gender based violence

One of the goals of Women’s Resource Center is to protect the rights of women who are in the most vulnerable and not privileged position in our society, and is not aimed at providing assistance to women who have political and economic privileges, various protection resources, and abuse power. Privileged are those women who contribute to the reproduction of power, to its existence and subject other women, men and children to sexist exploitation as well. These women use the resources received from the patriarchy and their class positions in society to improve their material status, and act from the position of power. This process is combined with the exploitation of the poor women who also face other socio-economic obstacles. Women’s Resource Center highly values the role of women in politics, since it is more difficult for women to reach high political platforms in patriarchal society, however, with limited resources, WRCA makes statements in the public field condemning gender violence and sexism, responding to those cases that it considers most important for achieving public discourse and policy change. Women’s Resource Center has not committed itself to respond to all cases of violence and discrimination, neither to the state, nor to society, nor to its donors.
