The two-month program “Girls talk” is intended for 13 to 18-year-old girls. The goal of the program is to empower teenage girls, to create a safe space for communication and self-development. During the meetings, the participants have the opportunity to share their knowledge, discuss the role of young girls in society, talk about their problems, goals, and aspirations. Discussions focus on developing high self-esteem and leadership skills in participants.
It should be noted that after the end of the project, the participants’ connection with the WRC does not end. The girls have the opportunity to join the volunteer group of the WRC for which regular meetings and discussions are organized. Girls also have the opportunity to start their own initiatives and get support from the WRC to implement them.
The “Girls Talk” initiative is one of the most successful programs at WRC. The initiative was created in 2018 with the aim of making the problems that can be faced by the girls and women living among us visible through art-activism.
